On a rainy autumn evening in 2006, I ended up in a green corner of the internet and stumbled upon An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore. The magnitude and urgency of climate change struck me, and I was determined to find my contribution to a solution.
In architecture school at TU Delft I found my part of the problem to solve: the build environment. I believe new technologies and business models are the key to building circular buildings.
I thrive in ambitious teams and help guide them by creative ideas and clear communication.
I strongly believe businesses have a key role in the transition towards a sustainable economy. My default mode is to combine people, planet and profit. For example, in order to get my best friend to eat vegetables I developed a healthy alternative to a hotdog: The Dutch Carrotdog.
In a living lab setting I'm able to lead design sessions that lead to collaborative solutions, for example in the DGTL Streetspot project
Drijfveer is a circular floating visitor center I designed, built and operate. Built for 80% out of plant-based materials, this is the first building for World Expo Floriade 2022
